The short of it. The surge is working so the President is going to start drawing down the amount of military personnel in Iraq. The Democrats are not happy with that, they would like much more people pulled out. In fact all of them. The Republicans are very happy with that, because that means we are beginning to win. With the election being so close, the Democrats would like us to lose on Bush's watch, so they can say, "they failed" let us lead you. The Republicans would like to win on Bush's watch, so they can say, " See we told you we could win all the time, and the Democrats wanted to cut and run." The real bottom line is, that we will begin leaving Iraq next summer and once we start to leave, we will continue until all our troops are home.
