Is a new form of McCarthyism being resurrected by the GOP to resurrect their diminishing power?

Yes and I heard Pat Buchanan make a bizarre statement on MSNBC yesterday, talking about how well the Republicans were doing in the 1950's and going back to that era making a vague reference to McCarthyism. They can't be thinking this is a good strategy? Next they will be invoking Nixon. (reagan is close enough for me)
