(Rephrased) Is my AFQT score on the ASVAB truly bad? ?

A 54 is not a great score, but it's not that bad. All that matters is does it qualify you for the MOS you want? If not, you can retake the ASVAB at any time. You may want to brush up on the maths, and pick an MOS that does not require alot of it in daily use.
