Overweight Teen Needing Advice.?
You made a decision, so are you a man of your word? The hardest part of any job is follow through. Your diet isn't too bad, but make your own lunch, preferably raw vegetables like carrots, celery, cauliflower and the like. Tomatoes are good, but not everyone likes the same thing, so check out what you like and plan accordingly. Do you have a punching bag or speed bag available? Ten minutes a day should help your arms , chest and shoulders, as well as your reaction time. Sit ups, 25 at a time would be good for your abdominal muscles. Alternating between running, swimming and bicycling will help your waist and legs. You might benefit from a diabetic diet, check out the various websites for samples. Working out can be fun, but you need to challenge you. Walk a mile around the track and time yourself, then challenge yourself to improve your time. Eventually, you'll want to run. Increase your distance every month, 1 1/2 miles, 2miles and so on. Take care of your feet, you don't want blisters. If you can, get a job doing some physical labor, mow lawns, trim hedges, plant flowers and bushes and trees. It'll give you exercise and pay you too. I grew up on a farm and did most of what I've mentioned and a lot of other physical work too, so I know it can be done. As for motivation, if you're a man of your word and want to be considered as such, you need no more motivation than that. Work offers a paycheck for motivation, and having the stamina and skills needed for a job gets you hired. Sooner or later, you may want a job to support yourself. And keep your grades up, study extra in whatever interests you. The ancient Greeks called it agape (ah-gahp-i) the ability to be all you can be. Good luck and you can always write.
